Access Description: The vein is accessible by boat from the Steephill Falls dam site. Bingham Lake is approximately 16 km north of the dam site. The site will be accessible only at low water since the site was flooded following the creation of the Magpie River Reservoir.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The veins are associated with mafic to intermediate and intermediate to felsic metavolcanic rocks of the upper volcanic cycle. A small granodiorite intrusion is located just south of the occurrence.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The vein is associated with quartz-feldspar crystal tuff, polymictic lapilli tuff and granodiorite. Quartz-calcite veins have also been observed in the small granodiorite body located south of the occurrence.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Other minerals reported, but not confirmed at the site include: chalcopyrite, sphalerite, chalcocite, bornite, malachite, bismuth, molybdenite and native copper. Galena, pyrite, calcite and quartz are the main vein constituents at this occurrence. The best values obtained from grab samples taken by the OGS were: 0.01 oz/t Au and < 0.01 oz/t Ag.
