Location Method: Based on Assessment

Access Description: The former minesite is located approximately 6.5 km by overgrown bush road, west of Goudreau. The mine site is located on the northwest side of the road. This occurrence is located aproximately 1 km NNE of the mine.



Exploration History

Pre 1940: 6 diamond drill holes, shaft sunk on No 1 vein, open cut developed on east side of diabase dike, mill on site. 1940: Sylvanite Gold Mines Ltd. - property description.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The occurrenc lies within the western domain of the Goudreau Lake Deformation Zone, which is comprised of 85 to 115 degree striking brittle and brittle-ductile high-strain zones displaying dextral oblique-slip displacement. The occurrence is hosted within mafic to intermediate metavolcanics of the third volcanic cycle in contact with the north side of the Gutcher Lake Stock. The mineralization lies within the thermal metamorphic aureole of the Gutcher Lake Stock.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The occurrence is hosted in an east trending vein hosted by pillowed and massive mafic to intermediate metavolcanic rocks. The vin is cross cut by a NNW trending olivine diabase dike.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Assays returned values ranging from $0.20 Au/1.5 ft to $47.00 over 3.1 ft.
