Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The iron formation conists of a breccia containing pyrite. The south side of the iron formation is characterized by a narrow band of dense bluish silica. Pyrite was found scattered throughout the silica member but it was not confined to any zone nor was there any great amount of it. siliceous siderite occurred in pathces throughout the north side of the silica member. This range is thought to be the missing segment of iron formation between the Central Brooks range and the West Brooks range.
