Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The property is situated close to the contact between the Michipicoten greenstone belt and the Hawk Lake intrusive complex. Gold occurs in quartz veins in silicified, carbonated and sheared diorite that has intruded the metavolcanic rocks. Quartz-feldspar porphyry intrusive intrude the diorite and are in close proximity tot he gold mineralization. shearing has occurred preferentially within the diorite close to the unsheared quarz-feldspar porphyry.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Veins occur within a shear zone along the contact between a quartz-feldspar porphyry and mafic metavolcanics or sheared diorite. There are at least two phases of veining, the earliest phase is composed of granular quartz and the later phase is coarse, milky quartz.
