Point Location Description: Stripping on east side of Firesand River, south of Sunrise Lake
Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: The site is accessible by following the bush road on the north side of hwy 101, opposite the Twin Lakes road for 3 km. The stripping is located approximately 250 m east of the road.
1938: discovery by A. L. McCreight. 1940: sampling. 1979-80: Firespur Explorations Ltd. - ground geophysics, geological mapping. 1989-94: Firesand Resources - stripping, channel sampling, mapping.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The vein reportedly occurs along the contact between mafic metavolcanic rocks and a quartz feldspar porphyry. Mapping completed by the OGS in 1991 indicated that the quartz-feldspar porphyry was only sporadically located along the prospect.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The best assay from this vein was a channel sample that retuned 0.047 oz/t Au (Firesand Resources). Values as high as 12.0 g/t Au over 3.1 m were returned from the 1994 sampling program. Grab samples from what appears to be the same system, 800 m to the w have returned values of 15.5 g/t Au over 3 m.
