Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The occurrence lies within massive to pillowed mafic metavolcanic rocks of either the second or third volcanic cycle. All of the exploration work has focused on an area within the mafic metavolcanics, adjacent to a NE trending diabase dike.

Lithology

Lithology Data
Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
Intermediate Tuff 1 Silicified Tuff Contains
Vein 2 Quartz Host
Diabase 3 Diabase Adjacent
Mafic pillowed flow 4 Pillowed Host

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The occurrence reportedly consists of NW trending quartz stringers within a silicified tuff. Mapping by the OGS in 1982 indicates that the occurrence consists of a silicified and carbonated mafic intrusion with visible pyrite and arsenopyrite.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Pyrite is the dominant sulphide visible in the trenches, arsenopyrite composes about 2-4% of the showing. The best assays were obtained by Regnery from grab samples from the trenches. They obtained values of 0.28 oz/t over 5 feet from a mineralized trench. The best assays from samples collected by ACR returned values of 0.07 oz/t and 0.04 oz/t Au from chip samples in the trenches. One sample taken from diamond drill core in 1978 returned a value of 6.73% Zn. Grab samples collected by Huclif returned assays ranging from 0.02 to 0.1 oz/t Au.
