Point Location Description: Veins adjacent to diabase dike

Location Method: Conversion from MDI

Access Description: Follow the Bremner Road (old Wawa-Hawk Junction road) for approximately 1.7 km from the junction of 101. Follow the Lakemount trail for approximately 1.5 km. The vein is situated close to a small pond on the north side of the trail.



Exploration History

?: discovery by B. Soulier and later held by J. Bukell, trenching and prospecting. 1943: Lakemount Mines Ltd. - sampling.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The occurrence consists of a sheared and fractured quartz feldspar porphyry and mafic metavolcanic contact. The occurrence is proximal to a moderately chloritized diabase dike.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Assays reported in 1943 were 2.69% Cu over 22 feet. The best assay collected from the quartz vein by the OGS was 2.6% Cu. A grab sample from the quartz-feldspar porphyry returned up to 5280 ppm Cu.
