Access Description: The sit lies on the north side of the creek that feeds into the north end of Blasko Lake. Access to the area is via the Firesand Creek Road, south from highway 101 for a distance of approximately 1 km. An overland travers from this point can be made to Blasko Lake.
Claims were staked and worked by N. and R. Morrison, F. Krimpotich and W. Jarvis between 1958 and 1959. Work consisted of prospecting and trenching.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The complex intrudes Archean rocks of the Wawa subprovince and has been emplaced along faults associated with the Kapuskasing Structural Zone. The complex consists of sovite, silicocarbonatite, ijolite and feruginous rauhaugite. The complex is zoned with sovite and silicocarbonatite at the periphery and rauhaugite in the core. Ijolite occurs as blocks metasomatized by fenitizing fluids in the sovite rim of the complex. Lamprophyre dikes with associated iron carbonate and sodium amphibole alteration are common in the area near the complex.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The rock has been described as being a crumbly calcite carbonatite. From the site location, and mapping by R. P. Sage it appears as if the occurrence is possibly hosted in an altered carbonate xenolith within the external supracrusal rocks. No good descriptions of the occurrence are available. Carbonatite is reportedly exposed across a 20-foot width.
