Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The molybdenite is associated with a large scale network of discontinuous to stockwork like milky-white quartz veins. The veins range from a few cm to 1.2 m in width and can be traced fro lenths of up to 25 m and intrude and have silicified trondhjemite-granodiorite gneiss.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The veins vary from 1 in to 4 ft wide and are somewhat discontinuous in length. Molybdenite is usually associated with quartz veins. Massive molybdenite often is found along slips and seams but is rarely found in the massive quartz or granite. The sludges taken from the 1939 drill holes gave an average of 0.25% MoS. The diamond drill core returned assays of 0.26% Mo over 10 ft. samples from the trenches returned 0.26% Mo over 100 ft; 0.43% Mo over 66 ft; 1.41% Mo over 50 ft. Chip samples collected by International Ranwick in 1958 returned assays of 0.27% Mo over 6 ft; 0.29% Mo over 8 ft; 0.02% Mo over 6 ft; 0.03% Mo over 7 ft. Approximately 120 tons of ore was removed from the site in 1939 and the average grade of the shipment of 0.5% Mo.
