Access Description: The site is accessible by canoeing south from the Steephill Falls power dam for approximately 2 km. The pits are located approximately 1 km west of the river.
Exploration history is sketchy. Samples were taken by W. F. Morrison of Michipicoten Iron Mines in 1945. Date of staking is unknown.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The occurrence is described as consisting of a number of roughly parallel shears or fractured sections within mafic metavolcanics. Metasedimentary rocks also underlie the area and in the vicinity of the patented claims the mafic metavolcanics are in contact with the metasediments. It is possible that the occurrence lies at the sheared contact between these two rock types.
