Point Location Description: Outcrops on a low ridge between Upper Jimmy Kash Lke and Isabella Lake

Location Method: Data Compilation

Access Description: The site is accessible via the Eagle River Mine/Paint Lake road. Drive west along the road for approximately 11.5 km to a disused forestry road heading along the south shore of Paint Lake. Drive south along the forestry road for approximately 4 km. The iron range trends east-west across the road.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The iron range consists of two parallel bands of iron formation. It is offset an estimated 1 km by left-lateral faulting through Jimmy Kash Lake. The east segment can be traced in outcropy and geophysically almost to Back Lake (6 km in total length).

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The iron formation consists of thin bedded chert, magnetite and various iron oxides. The iron fomration outcrops betweeen intermediate to felsic metavolcanic rocks to the south and massive intermediate to mafic metavolcanic rocks to the north.
