Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Deformation and alteration styles of the western MDZ, immediately west of Macassa Creek are similar to the central MDZ. However, the intensity of strian and alteration decreases further to the west aproaching the contact with the Pukaskwa batholith. The MDZ swings with the stratigraphy, striking approximately 220 at Scuzzy Little Lake where stretching lineations plunge to the west. Folds, crenulations and kinkbands are not as common as in the central MDZ.
