Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The occurrence is hosted by the Northern Zone of the East Pukaskwa Deforamtion Zone. This zone has a strike length of approximately 2.5 km and a width of 300m. The zone is centred along the contact between felsic metavolcanics to the nroth (hanging wall) and metasediments to the south (footwall). Clasts in conglomerates are hightly attentuated and commonly difficult to discern from matrix. Deformation and alteration, including green mica, are similar to the Mishibishu Deformation Zone suggesting that the northern zone of the EPDZ may be the western extension of the MDZ.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The Champagne Vein appears to be a folded quartz vein ranging from a few cm to 2.5 m in width, witht eh folding accounting for the better thicknesses. Gold mineralization accompanied by pyrite, aresenopyrite and rare chalcopyrite and galena is associated with crack and seal structures as well as streaks and thin layers of wall rock material. The gold is generally coarse grained.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Noranda Exploration determined that the vein had an average value of 0.47 oz/t Au over 4.9 ft. Grab samples collected by Noranda returned values up to 1.2 oz/t Au. Chip samples averaged 0.48 oz/t Au across 3.8 ft.Four of the five holes drilled by Mishibishu Gold Corp intersected the Champagne Vein with thicknesses from 0.3 ft to 5.05 ft. Assays ranged from 0.008 oz/t Au over 1 ft to 0.301 oz/t Au over 0.65 ft.
