Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The occurrence lies within the western domain of the Goudreau Lake Deformation Zone (GLDZ). The GLDZ consists of a series of brittle and brittle-ductile high-strain zones displaying dextral oblique-slip displacement. The host rocks are the mafic to intermediate metavolcanic rocks of the third volcanic cycle. Gledhill reported a series of quartz-feldspar porphyry dikes in the vicinity of the mineralized veins.

Quartz-Feldspar Porphyry 3 Quartz-Feldspar Near

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Quartz veins are hosted within massive to pillowed mafic metavolcanic rocks that display weak to moderate deformation. Gledhill describes the quartz veining to occupy an area of shearing. Several quartz-feldspar porphyry sills or dikes have also been reported in the area.
