Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The occurrence lies within the southern domain of the Goudreau Lake Deformation Zone. The southern domain is composed of a 70 degree striking, ductile-brittle zone of subparallel, dextral oblique-slip high strain zones developed within strongly altered and deformed felsic to intermediate metavolcanic rocks. The southern domain is roughly 8 km long by 2 km wide. The 'Goudreau Shear' is the dominant structural feature of this domain and it hosts the Magino Mine, Lochalsh Zone and the Island Zone.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The sulphide and carbonate facies iron formation lies on the transition between felsic to intermediate and mafic to intermediate metavolcanic rocks. The chert-argillite-sulphide iron formation varies in width from one metre to 20 metres in width. The argillite is typicaly sheared to chlorite schist and contacts with the mafic metavolcanics are gradational. Quartz pods and veins form up to 20% of the sulphide facies iron formation. Gold values are associated with these quartz phases. Quartz-tourmaline veins are found associated with the margins of quartz-feldspar porphry dikes/sills.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Grab samples of the iron formation collected by Faldo Mines ranged up to 4.8 g/t Au. Samples of diamond drill core drilled by Corona in the same vicinity returned vales of 5.1 g/t Au over 0.5 m.
