Sep 23, 2016 (A Wilson) - The Dog Lake Deformation Zone (DLDZ) is located in the central part of Riggs and West townships, where it is defined by a 1.5 to 2.0 km wide southeast-trending zone of moderately to strongly strained rocks. The DLDZ is characterized by both ductile and brittle-ductile shear zones which occur in two dominant orientations 90-100 degrees and 110-120 degrees. Shear zones at these orientations within the mafic to intermediate metavolcanic rocks are defined by 1 to 50 m of chlorite-calcite and, rarely, chlorite-iron carbonate schists. Shear zones within feldspar and quartz-feldspar-porphyry intrusions are defined by quartz-sericite schist. Narrow NE and NW trending brittle and brittle-ductile shear zones are also observed with the DLDZ.

Sep 23, 2016 (A Wilson) - The trenches are cut across lean siliceous iron formation. This iron formation is associated with carbonatized mafic to intermediate metavolcanics and feldspar porphyry. Several horizons of iron formation are present and are separated by massive chloritic metavolcanics. The Macallan shear zone has been traced over a 500 m strike length with widths up to 10 m. A possible extension of the zone has been exposed by stripping and remains open along strike.

Sep 23, 2016 (A Wilson) - Grab samples taken in 1939 from a series of pits on mining claim SSM 9347 range from traces of gold to $33.60 Au over 40 inches. Assays from the diamond drilling completed in 1941 returned gold values ranging from 0.01 oz./t Au to 1.54 oz./t Au. Grab samples collected by McIntyre Mine Ltd. returned values ranging from 0.02 oz./t Au to 1.87 oz./t Au. Grab samples collected in 1963 returned assays of $24.00 Au over 6 inches and $30.00 Au over 3.5 inches. The best assays from grab samples collected in 1983 returned assays of 0.096 oz./t Au and 0.181 oz./t Au. These assays were returned from iron formation and the metavolcanic host rocks. Grab samples collected by Pele in 2004 returned assays ranging from <1 g/t Au to >57 g/t Au, and 26 ppm Cu to 2.1% Cu. Grab samples collected by Pele Gold in 2004 returned values up to 57.7 g/t Au. Further sampling in 2009 returned values ranging from non-detect up to 12.6 g/t Au. Channel samples collected by Pele in 2009 returned values ranging from 1028 g/t gold over 2.65 m to 1.57 g/t gold over 1.88 m.
