Access Description: The site is accessible by boat from Missinabie to Lochalsh Bay and then up the side of Manitou Mountain to the trenches on the north side of the hill.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The occurrrence is described as consisting of quartz stringers in a quartz diabase dike. The quartz-filled fractures cross both the diabase and the Lochalsh Stock. Gold has been found only in the quartz veins within the diabase. The quartz veins vary in thickness between 0.6 to 60 cm and the veins continue across into the granodiorite for 7.6 to 30 m.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - In 1937 3 tons of gold bearing quartz was reportedly processed and produced 3 oz Au. Of the 10 samples collected by Hollinger in 1938, one ran 0.66 oz/t Au, another ran 0.72 oz/t Au and the remainder ran nil Au. Reports by G. L. White indicate that the best assay ran 2.31 oz/t Au over 5 feet. Erie Canadian Gold Mines obtained assays ranging from $0.40 to $2.40 from channel samples in trenches. Grab samples collected by Oasis Resources in 1983 returned assays of 0.01 oz/t Au and 0.16 oz/t Au. Grab samples collected by Muscocho in 1986 returned values as high as 0.08 oz/t Au.
