Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The McKewen Lake Deformation Zone (MLDZ) is a 1.5 km wide, SE-trending zone of strongly deformed mafic to intermediate and felsic to intermediate metavolcanic rocks, which can be traced from McKewen Lake in the northern part of West Township, southeastwards to the northwestern corner of Stover Township. Discrete 120-130 degree trending ductile shear zones are common throughout the MLDZ, but only a small number of shear zones are greater than 1 m.

Jul 24, 2013 (A Wilson) - The showing consists of two felsite dikes of variable with (1-3 m) which intrude intermediate to mafic metavolcanic rocks. The dikes are moderately sheared and silicified, hosting minor disseminated pyrite. A number of discontinuous, rusty quartz stringers cross cut lithologic contacts. .

Jul 24, 2013 (A Wilson) - Grab samples taken from showing 3 by the OGS in 1967 returned a value of 2.64 oz/t Au over 1.0 ft. Samples collected by Orequest did not return assay values greater than 25 ppb Au. Grab samples collected by E Wood returned assays up to 4.82 oz/t Au over 0.7 ft. Grab samples collected by Orequest in 1988 returned values of 0.046 oz/t Au from a grab sample in sheared metavolcanics adjacent to the showing. Channel samples from the showing returned values ranging from 5 to 25 ppb.
