Point Location Description: Stripped area on north shore of Goudreau Lake
Location Method: Data Compilation
Access Description: Access is via an 18 km all-weather gravel road that turns off of highway 519 just west of the town of Dubreuilville. Dubreuilville is on highway 519, 44 km east of the junction of Highway 17 and 519. Claim SSM 2075 is located on the south side of the old Goudreau road, approximately 500 m east of the junction between the new and the old Goudreau Roads. A short bush road leads to a large stripped area on the north shore of Goudreau Lake. The stripping is visible from the Goudreau Road.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The showing straddles the boundaries between the Northern and Southern Domains of the Goudreau Lake Deformation Zone. The GLDZ is up to 4.5 km in width and strikes in a gentle sigmoid-form for at least 30 km, subparallel to the stratigraphy and the regional foliation. In the immediate Goudreau-Lochalsh area, the GLDZ is coincident with a major contact between Cycle 2 and Cycle 3 volcanics. There is a strong structural control of the gold-bearing quartz veins systems within each of the 070-075 striking high-strain zones within the deformation zone. T

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Gold mineralization occurs in narow, east-striking quartz veins that are localized along a strongly schistose contact between a felsic porphyry dike and mafic metavolcanic rocks. This occurrence may be the surface expression of the Magino-Island Zone-Lochalsh Zone gold mineralized system.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Visible gold has been found in a number of narrow veins which are parallel to the schist. Gold also occurs in transverse veins. There are no reported gold values associated with this showing. The transverse veins are oriented north-south and consist of quartz-tourmaline. The best assayfrom samples collected by Patricia Mining Corp. in 2001 returned 24.65 g/t Au; other samples had values ranging from 0.03 g/t Au to 0.52 g/t Au.

Notes: The mineralization at this showing closely resembles the mineralization found at the nearby Magino Mine. There are numerous non-auriferous north-striking quartz-tourmaline veins, that crosscut the schistosity within the felsic porphyry dike. The high-strian zone is about 25 cm wide and strikes 66 to 80 degrees. the cross veins range in width from 2 cm to 35 cm and strike 6 degrees.
