Location Method: Data Compilation
Access Description: Access is via an 18 km all-weather gravel road that turns off of highway 519 just west of the town of Dubreuilville. Dubreuilville is on highway 519, 44 km east of the junction of Highway 17 and 519. The occurrence lies on the west side of Lovell Lake and can be reached via canoe from the boat launch on Lovell Lake, or on foot from a series of secondary bush roads leading to the north and west of the lake.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The showing straddles the boundaries between the Northern and Southern Domains of the Goudreau Lake Deformation Zone. The GLDZ is up to 4.5 km in width and strikes in a gentle sigmoid-form for at least 30 km, subparallel to the stratigraphy and the regional foliation. In the immediate Goudreau-Lochalsh area, the GLDZ is coincident with a major contact between Cycle 2 and Cycle 3 volcanics. There is a strong structural control of the gold-bearing quartz veins systems within each of the 070-075 striking high-strain zones within the deformation zone.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The showing consists of a series of narrow quartz veins within a sheared trondhjemitic intrusion. At depth, some of the best gold values come from quartz-tourmaline stringers and veins.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Values of $6.00 per ton in gold were reported by A. Capallani in the early 1960's but the values were reportedly erratic. A grab sample collected by McNellen in 1982 returned 0.80 oz/t Au. Assays of 0.18 and 0.272 oz t Au were obtained from diamond drill core collected in 1985.
