Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The showing straddles the boundaries between the Northern and Southern Domains of the Goudreau Lake Deformation Zone. The GLDZ is up to 4.5 km in width and strikes in a gentle sigmoid-form for at least 30 km, subparallel to the stratigraphy and the regional foliation. In the immediate Goudreau-Lochalsh area, the GLDZ is coincident with a major contact between Cycle 2 and Cycle 3 volcanics. There is a strong structural control of the gold-bearing quartz veins systems within each of the 070-075 striking high-strain zones within the deformation zone. The showing lies more within the Southern Domain which is composed of a ductile-brittle zone of subparallel, dextral oblique-slip high strain zones developed within strongly altered and deformed, felsic to intermediate metavolcanic rocks.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The iron range is a typical Michipicotentgype iron range but with minor carbonate. The range occurs at the stratigraphic top of cyclye one intermediate to felsic metavolcanics and at the bottom of cycle tow intermediate to mafic metavolcanics. To the east the Bearpaw correlates with unnamed, geophysically inferred iron formation. To the north the range likely was originally connected to the Morrison No. 1 Iron Range, but faulting now separates the two iron ranges. The Bearpaw Lake iron range probably represents a thickened section due to tight folding.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Assays of drill core from the BearPaw (BP-9) returned values of 0.322 oz/t Au, 31.7 ppm silver, 12440 ppm Cu, 9 ppm Pb and 27 ppm 27 over an undisclosed length. The iron content of the Bearpaw indicates 27.66 -40.94% Fe, 3.41-11.68% Si, 2.00 - 36.22% S, 0.49 - 2.9% Mn, 3.81-15.79% Ca.
