Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The Cradle Lakes Deformation Zone is at least 5 km in length and rouchly 1-2 km wide, but may be up to 10 km in total length. The CLDZ is subparalle to stratigraphy and occurs largely within fedlspar-crystal tuffs, which in many places are difficult to distinguish fromthe cradle Lakes stock, a feldspar porphyry intrusion adjacent to and partially within the CLDZ. The CLDZ contains a large, east-striking high stain zone that is up to 40 m wide and has been traced for several hundred metres along strike.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The showing consists of several narrow quartz stringers in sheared andesite on both sides of a 20 cm wide iron stained quartz vein. Teh vein and stringers are parallel to the shearing and the foliation is parallel to the shearing. The zone does not appear to continue to the west and narrows to 21 cm in width, 7 m east along strike.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - A grab sample collected by Orequest from the 1940's vintage trenches returned an assay of 0.551 oz/t Au. Other grab samples of the same vein gave assays of 0.134 oz/t Au, 130, 160 and 160 ppb Au. Soil geochemistry revealed no anomalous trends. There are no copper assays reported for this showing.
