Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The multiple iron ranges found in the Goudreau area are presumably folded, faulted and tectonically thickened portions of a single iron formation. This iron formation occurs at the contact between the intermediate to felsic metavolcanics of cycle one and the intermediate to mafic metavolcanics of cycle two. In general, the iron formation becomes thinner and the carbonate facies disappears as one moves eastward into the Kapuskasing Structural Zone. The major difference between the Goudreau iron formations and the iron formation north of Wawa is that the siderite of the carbonate facies at Wawa is calcite east of Goudreau. The occurrence lies within the northern domain of the Goudreau Lake Deformation Zone. This domain is located immediately south of the Maskinonge Lake sock and is composed of brittle to brittle-ductile high-strain zones.

Intermediate Tuff-Breccia | 3 | Intermediate To Felsic | Tuff, Breccia, Sericite Schist | Hanging Wall |
Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The iron formation probably correlates with the west end of the McPhail Iron Ranges to the north. North of the C pit, and separating the C iron Range from the McPhail are intermediate to felsic metavolcnaics consiting of sericite schist, lapilli tuff, breccia and quartz-feldspar crystal tuff. These rocks are schistose and carbonated. Along the south side of the C pit, schistose intermediate to mafic metavolcanics appear to overlie the sulphide-facies iron formation. Pyritic sand is common at the west end of the C pit. The C extension appears to be a separate segment of iron range lying south of, and parallel to the main C pyrite lens.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Average grade of the remaining reserves is 38.9% Fe, 23.6% S. The ore is described as massive pyrite and pyrrhotite with minor chert.
