Point Location Description: Sheared zone on north shore of Goudreau Lake
Location Method: Field Visit
Access Description: Access to the area is via an 18 km long gravel road (new Goudreau Road) that exits off of the Dubreuilville road (highway 519) in northern Finan Township. From the intersection of the old and new Goudreau Roads, the occurrence is located approximately 1 km east. A bush road leads to a large stripped area on the lake shore.
1987-88: Canamax Resources Inc. - 40 ddh drilled in vicinity of Goudreau Lake. 1996-2002: Patricia Mines - 42 ddh (15,545 m) in vicinity of showing, stripping, mapping, ground geophysics.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The showing straddles the boundaries between the Northern and Southern Domains of the Goudreau Lake Deformation Zone. The GLDZ is up to 4.5 km in width and strikes in a gentle sigmoid-form for at least 30 km, subparallel to the stratigraphy and the regional foliation. In the immediate Goudreau-Lochalsh area, the GLDZ is coincident with a major contact between Cycle 2 and Cycle 3 volcanics. There is a strong structural control of the gold-bearing quartz veins systems within each of the 070-075 striking high-strain zones within the deformation zone. The deposit is hosted by the same shear zone hosting the Magino Deposit. The Southern Domain is composed on an 70 degree striking, ductile-brittle zone of subparallel, dextral oblique-slip, high strain zones developed within strongly altered and deformed felsic to intermediate metavolcanic rocks. The southern domain is approximately 8 km long by 2 km wide.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Opalescent grey quartz lenses occur in a sequence of highly deformed sericitized felsic tuffs in contact with granodiorite. Quartz-feldspar porphyry dikes intrude the tuffs. These tuffs are interpreted to be the Magino felsite and the porphyry is interpreted to be associated with the Webb Lake stock. The felsic tuffs are highly deformed and the bedding is crenulated.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Visible gold occurs as patches of finely dispersed clouds of fine-grained gold. Assays range from 2.5 g/t Au over 0.62m to 47.3 g/t Au over 5 m.

Notes: This zone is interpreted to be the on strike extension of the Magino Northeast Zone. It is hosted within rocks that resemble the Magino felsite. The Shore Zone and the Island Zone may be part of a series of monoclinal step-folds. The Shore Zone may also be interpreted as a splay off of the main gold-beairng structure of the Goudreau Lake Deformation Zone.
