Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The showing straddles the boundaries between the Northern and Southern Domains of the Goudreau Lake Deformation Zone. The GLDZ is up to 4.5 km in width and strikes in a gentle sigmoid-form for at least 30 km, subparallel to the stratigraphy and the regional foliation. In the immediate Goudreau-Lochalsh area, the GLDZ is coincident with a major contact between Cycle 2 and Cycle 3 volcanics. There is a strong structural control of the gold-bearing quartz veins systems within each of the 070-075 striking high-strain zones within the deformation zone. The deposit is hosted by the same shear zone hosting the Magino Deposit. The Southern Domain is composed on an 70 degree striking, ductile-brittle zone of subparallel, dextral oblique-slip, high strain zones developed within strongly altered and deformed felsic to intermediate metavolcanic rocks. The southern domain is approximately 8 km long by 2 km wide.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The North Shear is hosted in strongly deformed quartz-feldspar porphyry and felsic metavolcanics on the north margin of the Webb Lake Stock. The shear structure has a width of approximately 15 m and is characterized by gold mineralization associated with strong sericite, chlorite, carbonate, pyrite and silica alteration.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - A 1997 drill hole included an intersection of 6.4 g/t Au over 10.8 m. An intersection in a 2000 diamond drill hole returned 1.0 m at 8.09 g/t Au. Intersection in hole PL-17 returned 10.8 g/t Au over 5.46 m. The high grade 21 Zone intersection of 19 m at 52.18 g/t Au occurs in the hanging wall of the North Shear. Intersections from the 2001 diamond drilling program returned values ranging from 3.75 g/t Au over 1.9 m to 80.58 g/t Au over 0.5 m.

Notes: The North Shear Structure is marked by a persistent brittle shearing deformation consisting of en-echelon quartz-tourmaline stringer veining and stockworks containing visible gold, minor pyrite and trace chalcopyrite. Rocks within the zone are often highly strained, crenulated, silicified and sericitized. The quartz-tourmaline veining occurs within the central to northern portion of the Webb Lake sill, trending sub-parallel and locally transgressing formation contacts that dip at approximately 80 N.
