Mar 27, 2019 (Therese Pettigrew) - Up to 20% disseminated to stringered pyrite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, some sphalerite and galena in a zone of fractured mafic volcanics up to 5 feet wide, near felsic pyroclastic. Assayed up to 2.94% Cu, 2.12% Zn, 3.2 ppm Au, 52.79 ppm Ag, 0.14% Pb over 2.13 m; including 7.70% Cu, 4.28% Zn, 8.23 ppm Au, 116 ppm Ag and 0.24% Pb (Muir, 2000; Kustra, 1984). Muir (2000) described Caravelle A (located at NAD83 Zone 16, 585903 m E, 5409999 m N) as having heavy pyrrhotite, light pyrite, and trace chalcopyrite, with assays up to 0.69% Zn over 0.18 m. The Caravelle 1 showing (located at NAD83 Zone 16, 586378 m E, 5410085 m N) is described by Muir (2000) as disseminated to stringered pyrite, chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite. An amphibolite inclusion in siliceous metavolcanic gneiss assayed 0.42% Cu and 0.18% Ni over 0.61 m; 0.32% Cu and 0.29% Ni over 1.22 m in an Ontario Dept. of Mines sample.
