Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The occurrence consists of 2 discrete, narrow, closely-spaced, strongly to intensely silicified and sulphidized, shear zones. The shear zones are subparallel and roughly E-W trending. These zones coalesce before disappearing beneath overburden to the west. The shears are generally less than 50 cm in thickness, however, where the two zones converge, the zone balloons to over 3 m in width. Pillowed metavolcanic rocks show moderate bleaching, epidotization and contain trace pyrite and pyrrhotite adjacent to the shear.

Mineralization Comments

May 23, 2014 (A Wilson) - Fine flecks and flakes of visible gold were observed within the eastern portion of the southern shear. Grab samples collected by Freewest assayed up to 41.62 g/t Au. Channel samples collected by Freewest returned assays of 34.1 g/t Au and 14 g/t Ag over 0.5 m and 2.66 g/t Au over 2.10 m (including 9.63 g/t Au and 14 g/t Ag over 0.45 m). One sample collected by Teck-Cominco returned 90.72 g/t Au. The mineralization consists of discrete, narrow, strongly to intensely silicified, strongly sulphidized zones focussed along faults, fractures and shears within the mafic flows. The mineralized shear/fault zones within the 42 Zone are roughly subparallel to foliation within the mafic flows and strike 066 - 077º and dip 70-85º SSE. Mineralized splays from the main shear system strike at 043º, 119º and 182º.
