Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The mineralization is hosted by a 4 km long granodiorite or tonalite sill that intrudes moderately to strongly foliated mafic metavolcanic rocks. Gold mineralization occurs in two main zones. The south zone cuts across the granodioritic sill and consists of a series of mineralized quartz veins in a silicified shear within the granodioritic sill. The north or west zone consists of a narrow sheared quartz vein that lies along the north contact of the quartz porphyry unit.

May 23, 2014 (A Wilson) - Hiawatha Gold Mines estimated that the porphyry had an average gold value of 1.5 dwt over 3.5 ft. Surface diamond drilling near the shaft intersected values of 0.35 oz/t Au over 3.5 ft. Other diamond drilling completed by Hiawatha returned values up to 0.75 oz/t Au over 3.5 ft. The best value obtained in drill core by Nickel Rim was 0.54 oz/t Au over 5 ft. A surface grab sample of the North Zone taken in 1980 returned 0.19 oz/t Au, diamond drilling intersected 0.12 oz/t Au over 0.8 m. a grab sample of the West Zone, collected by Sveinson-Way in 1980, returned an assay of 18.060 oz/t Au over 0.22 m. U/G sampling of the South Zone returned assays ranging from 0.03 oz/t Au over 2 ft to 2.55 oz/t Au over 2 ft. U/G sampling of the North Zone returned assays of 0.17 oz/t Au over 3.5 ft; 2.78 oz/t Au over 3 ft and 1.87 oz/t Au over 2.9 ft. Assays from diamond drilling of the West Zone averaged 0.27 oz/t Au over 2.1 ft.
