Mineralization Comments

Dec 18, 2018 (Therese Pettigrew) - Trenching exposed a vein system (10 to 80 cm wide) which trends at 110 to 190" and can be traced 200 m. Shearing in the host rock is oblique to the vein system and is confined to the northern side of the vein. Samples of vein when slabbed show several generations of vein development: (a) barren white quartz; (b) carbonate rich; (c) tourmaline and sulphide bearing; (d) banded quartz-carbonate and barite. Sulfides identified are galena, chalcopyrite, pyrite, and molybdenite. Host rocks consist of coarse.felsic pyroclastic rocks which appear bleached near the vein. A chip sample ran 0.22 ounce gold per ton and 3.00 ounces silver per ton across 0.82 m (McIlwaine et al. 1982). Approximately 200 m to the south a second vein, parallel to those at the Heron Bay Mine vein, has been stripped and trenched along strike for 40 m. The vein, hosted in felsic breccias, is from 0.25 to 1 m wide and is composed of quartz-carbonate with pyrite, galena, and tourmaline (Patterson et al., 1984). DDH 4 drilled in 1995 by Stenlund Resources assayed up to 0.135 opt Au over 10 inches (4.6 gpt Au over 25 cm) from a quartz-feldspar porphyry at 68’2” depth. DDH #6 assayed up to 0.183 opt Au over 20” (6.27 gpt Au over 0.5 m) from a quartz eye porphyry at 78’3” depth (Assessment report 42D09NW0027). A sample collected in 1872 assayed 0.058 opt Au and 7.03 opt Ag. The best samples collected in the 1980s returned assays of 0.1 to 0.45 opt Au and 22 opt Ag (Assessment report 42D09NW0017).
