Access Description: The occurrence is located approximately 503 m west of the west arm of Big Duck Lake, about 20.1 km north of Schreiber (claims TB654025 and 646720, claim map G-606, Pays Plat Lake). Access may be gained by float/ski plane to Big Duck Lake or by using a bush trail that extends from the Winston Lake Road east to several showings near Big Duck Lake. The Winston Lake road extends from Highway 17 at a point 8 km west of Schreiber.
1917: The occurrence was staked by R. Cooper as TB 3382 ('Roy Cooper's Claim #1'). 1918: One-half interest was transferred to W. Longworth. 1923: The claim lapsed and was restaked by W.C. Dec 07, 2005 (B Nelson) - The occurrence is classed as a 'lode gold' and 'calc-alkalic porphyry' deposit. The quartz vein is well-defined and sugary textured, striking N20-25 degrees W. At one point, near its north end, the vein lies along the contact between quartz porphyry on the east and hornblende schist on the west. It is exposed in outcrops, pits and trenches intermittently over a strike length of 250 feet and it averages about 6 feet in horizontal width. The dip of the vein is not known but appears to be vertical where the vein is exposed in the northernmost pit.

Dec 07, 2005 (B Nelson) - The vein-quartz is mineralized with abundant fine-grained pyrite and, in places, a little molybdenite. A grab sample from the vein is reported to have assayed 0.14 oz/ton Au. Three channel samples across the vein, however, were found by the Provincial Assay Laboratory to contain only traces of gold. One of these samples, 6.5 feet long, from the northernmost pit, assayed 0.01 oz/ton Au. Wells (1984) reported that: 'Grab samples of...'high-grade' material are anomalous in gold and molybdenum, returning values of 312 ppb Au, 1092 ppm Mo and 764 ppb Au.
