May 17, 2019 (Therese Pettigrew) - The west Tribe deposit is found in two trenches, 30 feet apart, about 1200 feet west of the east deposit. It is in an east-west zone of pyritized hornblende schist, 30 feet or more in width, dipping 65-75 degrees north. At the south side of this zone, the schist is interrupted by a narrow quartz vein. Samples of schist, taken over a width of 3 feet (0.91 m) by the Keevil Mining Group in September 1960 from the north end of the east trench, assayed 0.06 oz/t Au (2.06 g/t Au) (Pye, 1964). A grab sample of vein material collected by Falconbridge in 1984 assayed 296 ppb Au. A pile of "high grade" material was found at the remnants of an old cabin located on line 9W at 13+55S. Although it is presumed that it came from the Tribe showing, the exact location of a TBS sample (#1579) which assayed 4980 ppb Au is uncertain (Assessment file 42E03SE8252).
