Mineralization Comments

May 04, 2018 (Therese Pettigrew) - Chalcopyrite and nickeliferous pyrrhotite are found in sheared fragmental volcanic rocks and iron formation about 1.2 km from the SE corner of Jackfish Lake. A gossan zone of undetermined dimenstions strikes N70E along a steep brushy slope (Walker, 1967). A soil sample collected by Highmark Resources in 1983 returned an assay of 0.67 gpt Au, 6.2 gpt Ag, and 163 ppm Mo. Grab samples collected in 2015 were described as sediments that were strongly silica flooded and cherty, with pyrite, arsenopyrite, and chalcopyrite, with sulphides generally occurring in stringers and clusters and often fracture filling. Sample SM29 assayed 979 ppm Cu. SM30 assayed 220 ppm Ni (AFRI 2.56642). Sample 93-43 collected by B. Fowler in 1993 returned negligible values of gold, copper and zinc but gave 68.6 gpt Ag (AFRI 20000004194).
