Mar 16, 2018 (Therese Pettigrew) - Samples from Violamac’s trenches assayed up to 2% Cu, 0.5% Ni, and 2 opt Ag (Shklanka, 1969). Mineralization consists of pyrrhotite, pyrite and chalcopyrite as thin seams and disseminations in silicified metavolcanic amphibolite in contact with the serpentinite intrusion. The silicified zone strikes about N70W and dips from 60 to 70 degrees north. Outcrops of this zone occur over a distance of about 800 m and the width ranges from 2.4 to 30.5 m. (Milne, 1967). Sampling done by Teck in 2000 returned values up to 1486 ppm Cu and 350 ppm Ni (AFRI 42D16NE2005)
