Lithology Comments

Sep 29, 2015 (Therese Pettigrew) - East of Area 41 to Wullie Lake drilling defined the medium grain, moderately magnetic layered apatite bearing gabbro as Eastern Border Gabbro, similar to that observed near the Bamoos Lake and Marathon PGM areas (figure 3). In this area the Eastern Border Gabbro lies stratigraphically above the layered PGE mineralized gabbro sequence. This layering is characterized by medium-grained anorthosite interlayered with coarse grain to pegmatitic, sub-ophitic textured gabbro. This unit is compositionally and texturally analogous to the Two Duck Gabbro that hosts the PGE mineralization in the Bamoos Lake Area (AFRI 20000002385).

Mineralization Comments

Sep 29, 2015 (Therese Pettigrew) - Nlckeliferous pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite disseminated in the basal olivine gabbro phase of the Port Coldwell alkalic complex (Shklanka, 1969). There is an exposure of a wide gossan area containing significant amounts of magnetite in a 200’ high cliff at the SW corner of Wullie Lake. There is considerable malachite and azurite resulting from the weathering of copper minerals. The gossan was traced for over 1200 feet up the hill and to the west. Gossan is also exposed on the SW side of the island in Wullie Lake about 1500 feet east of the cliff as well as on the south shore of the lake. Grab samples have returned assays as high as 4.39% Cu and 2.76% Ni with small quantities of gold and silver. Drilling intersections include 0.4% Cu and 0.03% Ni/1.5 m, 5% TiO2, 0.01% V and 0.05% Co (AFRI 42D16SW0080). East of Area 41 toward Wullie Lake the mineralization is reef-style, conformable to stratigraphy with Pd:Pt ratios becoming 1:1, compared to 3.5:1 in Area 41. Assay results from the 2006 drill program include the following: SL-06-01: 214.12 ppb Au, 860.25 ppb Pt, 1621.68 ppb Pd, 6785 ppm Co, 0.33% Cu and 0.02% Ni from 34-47.4 m; SL-06-02: 95.51 ppb Au, 1060.66 ppb Pt, 1905.95 ppb Pd, 88.62 ppm Co, 0.15% Cu, and 0.01% Ni from 3.7-9 m; SL-06-02: 166.16 ppb Au, 823.75 ppb Pt, 1489.79 ppb Pd, 57.86 ppm Co, 0.18% Cu, and 0.01% Ni from 45-51.65 m; SL-06-07: 76.59 ppb Au, 1817.21 ppb Pt, 1842.31 ppb Pd, 43.72 ppm Co, 0.04% Cu and 0.01% Ni from 63.5-67.85 m including 207 ppb Au, 3665 ppb Pt, 4286 ppb Pd, 42 ppm Co, 0.01% cu and 0.01% Ni from 63.5-65 m; SL-06-09: 48.72 ppb Au, 924.81 ppb Pt, 1198.11 ppb Pd, 87.29 ppm Co, 0.09% Cu, and 0.02% Ni from 56-61.65 m (AFRI 20000002385).
