Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (D McKay) - The showing is located within a 0.5 m by 4.5 m trench. The host rocks consist of metasedimentary rocks intruded by granite and pegmatite. The chalcopyrite-malachite bearing calcite veinlets (up to 1.25 cm) parallel the Greenhedge Lake fault (310 degrees).

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (D McKay) - Bartley (1954) described the mineralogy: ...small masses and disseminations of chalcopyrite occur with pyrite in a sericite schist accompanied by carbonate. Bright green copper oxidation stains the rock surface. Grab samples collected from the occurrence in 1984 by OGS Resident Geologist staff returned assay values which varied from <0.01 to <0.01 opt Au, <0.01 to 0.10 opt Ag and 52 to 184 ppm Cu.

Sep 27, 2019 (Therese Pettigrew) - Sample 8-1 collected by prospector R. Reukl in 1991 returned an assay of 0.18% Cu, 0.04% Zn, and 0.07 opt Ag (2.40 g/t Ag) from a shear zone with chloritic and sericitic quartz veinlets containing 1-2% chalcopyrite (Assessment report 42F13SW0009).
