Jan 20, 2014 (A Wilson) - The property mainly consists of fine-to-coarse grained mafic flows and tuffs which, at the contact are intercalated with siltstones to form a transition zone. The transition zone is more metamorphosed than the bordering lithologies and contains an alteration assemblage of garnets and hornblende comparable to that surrounding the Winston Lake deposit. The Upper and Lower contact of the transition zone can be traced the length of the property, but is widest in the western part of the property. Within the zone thin beds of cherty ironstone were located. The sediments are mainly siltstone with minor coarser beds of sandstone. The volcanics are intruded by quartz diorite (porphyry) sills which, in places, have phenocrysts of blue quartz eyes. These are located mainly in the southwest part of the property. Felsic intrusions consisting of granite, syenite, syenodiorite and pegmatites are located generally north of the transition zone. An exception to this is the syenodiorite and felsic sills associated with the carbonate zone surrounding the Harvie Creek fault. The pegmatites occur mainly within the transition zone and in the sediments east of Garnet Lake. Minor diabase dykes cross-cut all lithologies mainly in north and northeasterly directions. Diamond drilling intersected a 0.85 m thick section of graphitic argillite in DDH GRZ 10, as well as an 8.1 m thick section of graphitic argillite in DDH GRZ-11.
