Point Location Description: Vein outcrop

Location Method: Conversion from MDI

Access Description: The occurrence is located approximately 30 km north of Schreiber (claim map G-609), 0.8 km north of the north shore of Big Duck Lake and about 610 m southeast of Cable Lake. Easiest access is by aircraft from Pays Plat to Big Duck Lake. A drill trail which leads from the Winston Lake Mine to Big Duck Lake may also be used to access the area.



Exploration History

1983: Airborne geophysical surveys (MAG, EM); Corporation Falconbridge Copper. 1984: Ground geophysical surveys (EM, MAG), geological mapping and geochemical surveys; Corporation Falconbridge Copper. 1997: Battle Mountain Canada Ltd. conducted an IP survey. 2012: Clearframe Solutions Corp. conducted magnetometer and VLF-EM surveys.

Dec 07, 2005 (D McKay) - Hopkins (1922, p.21) describes the Madson occurrence: A sample across 5 feet of the Madson vein yielded an assay $2.50 per ton in gold [0.12 ounces of gold per ton at $20.67] and nothing in silver. This vein consists of banded calcite, pyrite, sugary and glassy quartz.
