Dec 07, 2005 (D McKay) - Hopkins (1922 pp.20-21) describes the occurrence as follows: The Sjolander-McKirdy deposit, which lies 70 chains (1.4 km) to the northeast of the McQuaig is in a hornblende schist which retains faint pillow structures and is distant about 800 feet (244 m) to the north of a large quartz porphyry outcrop. The deposit strikes south 70 west and dips 75 to the north, coinciding with the strike and dip of the country rocks. The vein has not been traced continuously for any great distance. Near the east part of TB 1861 an open cut eight feet (2.4 m) deep has been blasted for 24 feet (7.3 m) across the entire width of the deposit. Assays of channel samples taken in sections across this open cut indicate favourable values in gold across seven feet (2.1 m) near the hanging wall part. Considerable gold in a state of fine division occurs about five feet (1.5 m) from the hanging wall. Much pyrite, some galena, zinc blende and chalcopyrite are disseminated throughout the calcite-quartz-schist vein. A thin section of the gold-bearing material shows interlocking quartz and calcite grains with gold and pyrite, closely associated, lying between the grains. In the early part of 1915, 500 pounds (226.8) kg of the vein matter were shipped to a smelter. A vein on the east claim, TB 1955 contains molybdenite.

Dec 07, 2005 (D McKay) - Hopkins (1922) states: Considerable gold in a state of fine division occurs about five feet (1.5 m) from the hanging wall. Much pyrite, some galena, zinc blende and chalcopyrite are disseminated throughout the calcite-quartz-schist vein. A thin section of the gold-bearing material shows interlocking quartz and calcite grains with gold and pyrite, closely associated, lying between the grains. A grab sample collected from the occurrence by M. Bartley in the early 1940's reportedly assayed 0.07 opt Au (Bartley 1942, pp.8-9).
Jun 14, 2019 (Therese Pettigrew) - Sample 237056 collected by Clear Gold in 2013 returned an assay of 4167 ppm Zn (Assessment file 20000008066).
