Lithology Comments

Jun 08, 2013 (A Wilson) - The property is located east of the Manitouwadge greenstone belt of the eastern Wawa Subprovince, Superior Structural Province and is underlain by the eastern extension of the Moshkinabi mafic-ultramafic complex, some strongly deformed wedges of mafic metavolcanic amphibolite, and minor clastic and chemical metasedimentary rocks, thought to be dislocated extensions of the south limb of the Manitouwadge Synform, and the Black-Pic Batholith.

Mineralization Comments

Jun 10, 2013 (A Wilson) - A grab sample collected by the ODM (circa 1972) assayed 0.11% Cu and tr Ni. A grab sample collected by Freewest Resources in the same vicinity assayed 35 ppm Co, 136 ppm Cu and 46 ppm Ni. The sulphide mineralization observed during the Freewest program consisted of localized, generally irregular concentrations (trace to 2%) of finely disseminated pyrite, pyrrhotite, and some chalcopyrite within a wide range of mafic intrusive rock-types including gabbro, melagabbro, anorthosite, leucogabbro and hornblendite (recrystallized pyroxenite?).
