Mineralization Comments

Jun 21, 2017 (G White) - In an assessment report by R.N.Sexsmith for Sandy-Stone Exploration and Development Co. (1958), uranium mineralization (urananite and/or pyrochlore) occurs in pegmatite dykes (forming zones 5 to 50 feet wide and up to 300 feet long) within mica schist of the Quetico Gneissic Belt. On surface, the highest scintilometer readings were obtained where uranium oxide stain was observed in association with coarse biotite in the pegmatite dykes. Sexsmith (1958) also reports that “assay results from selected (surface) samples (collected in 1957 prospecting) ranged from 0.02 to 0.87% U3O8”. The highest assay obtained in drill core was a 3.5 foot section (135.0 - 138.5) from diamond drill hole No. 1 which returned a value of 0.08% U3O8 in biotite-rich pegmatite
