Lithology Comments

Mar 25, 2014 (D Draper) - The predominant rocks near the occurrence are metasediments consisting of quartz-chlorite-biotite schists and gneisses, quartzites and conglomerates. Paragneiss in the southern portion of the property strikes 080ºand dips 80º, with conglomerate exposed for 350ft north of the paragneiss. Outcropping occurs only within vicinity of river. There are 2 main zones of sulphide mineralization: an exposure 25-30 foot wide on west bank of river at the rapids (20% to massive pyrite and pyrrhotite with minor quartz as lenses and disseminations; very little copper mineralization in evidence; strongly magnetic) and an 8-foot zone on the east shore of the river north of the rocky island and 50ft south of the conglomerate consisting of fine-grained massive pyrite. Algoma personnel noted a few small quartz-chalcopyrite veins a few inches wide in conglomerate to the north of the east bank exposure. Drilling to the west of the river intersected paragneiss, quartzite and conglomerates and zones of varying degrees of sulphide mineralization.

Mineralization Comments

Mar 25, 2014 (D Draper) - Sulphide mineralization--predominantly pyrite and pyrrhotite--occurs within the paragneisses, quartzites and schists; chalcopyrite appears confined to the conglomerates. 1) 1964: Sample (#2254A) processed by Algoma assayed 10.28% Cu and 1 oz/t Ag. A letter by J. McGale (Feb. 8/65) states this sample originated on his Auden property but no other indication of its source is on file. 2) 1965: Company prospectus (Colleen Copper) reported grab samples of up to 4% Cu and one sample of 0.71% Ni 3) Grab samples from conglomerate zone reportedly ran: 2.36% Cu, 3.03 oz/t Ag, 0.89 oz/t Au. (Northern Miner article, June 24, 1965) 4) 1965: Colleen Copper drillhole #4 assayed 0.41% Cu over 5 ft at 79 - 84ft; sample taken from section of conglomerate mineralized with occasional blebs of chalcopyrite. 5) 1966: Algoma sample #12624 assayed 0.5% Zn. Certificate had note indicating McGale property, but exact location not on file. Compiler's note:Unfortunately, only one of the above assay reports can be matched to a verifiable sample location or drill hole from data currently on file (#4). Exact provenance of 1 and 5 above is unknown; assays in 2 and 3 are from company promotional reports and no supporting documentation was found. A Zn float was noted by Ferguson 400m north of the west bank sulphide showing, consisting of sphalerite in 2 fist-sized pieces of Paleozoic limestone.
