Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The iron formation is about 110 ft in width and consists mainly of coarsely crystalline blue quartz. Some bands of magnetite about 1/4 inch in thickness may be found but pyrite is more abundant. The iron formation is hosted by a sequence of paragneiss. A pegmatite dike near to the iron formation is weakly radioactive.
