Access Description: The site is easily accessible from Smooth Rock Falls and Cochrane by way of highway 11. The highway is located approximately 200 m east of the eastern limit of the peatland.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - The peatland is composed primarily of moss peat (79%) with lesser amounts ofsedge peats (21%). The total volume of the deposit is 4.4 millioncubic metres. The volume where depth exceeds 1 m is 3.9 million cubic metres. Over 70% of this volume occurs where peat depths exced 2 m. The area is considered to have good potential for extraction of horticultural peat.
