Point Location Description: Approximate centre of swamp north of the railway track east of Driftwood

Access Description: The site is accessible by driving about 30 km west of Cochrane along highway 11. Concession road between con 6 and 7 runs from highway 11 along the southern perimeter of the pealand. The northwesten section of the peatland can be accessed via the gravel road between con 9 and 10.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Moss peats comprise 87% of the deposit with sedge peat forming the remainder. The portion of the peatland where depths exceed 1 m comprises 2.1 million cubic metres. About 70% of this volume occurs where depths exceed 2 m. The small area and volume of this deposit indicates a low potential for development.
