Access Description: The farm is reached by travelling six miles west from Cochrane along highway 11 and then north 1.5 mi to the farmhouse. The village of Frederick is 0.5 mi farther north on this road.
1955: J. P. and G. Poissant - when sinking a well on their father's farm, a flow of natural gas was discovered. Three additional wells were drilled,1 in Lot 12 Con 3 and 2 in lot 13 con 3. No gas was encountered in these three drill holes.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - Three additional wells were sunk to bedrock at the village of Fredrick. Natural gas was found in all of these wells.
Jan 27, 2015 (A Wilson) - The gas reportedly had a pressure of 12.5 lb/sq. in. An analysis of the gas indicated it measured 336 BTU and it contained 32.5% methane, 0.9% ethane and 66.0% nitrogen.
