Point Location Description: Precise:Collar of hole CR-78-10 SW of ONR rail line,1 km west of foot of Sextant Rapids, Abitibi R.

Location Method: Based on Assessment

Access Description: Via highway 634 north from Smooth Rock Falls 75km to Fraserdale, then by Ontario Hydro all-weather gravel road north 55km to the Otter Rapids generating station on Abitibi River. (T-4708) ONR rail line roughly parallels west bank of river.



Exploration History

1978, Kerr Addison/Denison Mines (Lic. of Occ. #14879): Reverse circulation drilling, assays, downhole radiometric survey.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (D Draper) - Vertical hole drilled to depth of 80.8m to test extent of radiometric anomalies encountered in holes CR-78-1 and CR-78-2 (750m NW and SE of 78-10 respectively, along rail-line). Sextant Formation sediments were interesected from 24.1m to 77.4m. Thorium anomaly encountered in reddish gritstone and siltstone at base of Fm. just above gneissic basement rock.




Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (D Draper) - Sample from 245 - 250ft (74.7 - 76.2m) assayed at 330ppm thorium. A sample from Pleistocene overburden at a depth of 33.5m returned 100ppm Th and 8ppm U.
