Mar 23, 2014 (D Draper) - The lignite exposure at this location is brokenly continuous for 670 ft and is exposed roughly halfway up the 55-foot high river bank. Thickness of the seam varies from 3 to over 5 feet. The seam is overlain by 25 feet of boulder clay and post-glacial stratified silt and underlain by a zone of stratified sand and thin lignite layers, then by hard clay conglomerate.
