Province: Superior
Geological Age: Late Precambrian Geochron. Age Ref.: STUDY 43, P.2
Dec 07, 2005 (D Draper) - The complex is unexposed at surface. Aeromagnetic surveys indicate the complex consists of two ring-shaped subcomplexes, with the southern cutting the northern, suggesting the south (#2) complex is younger than the north, larger (#1) complex. The north complex is approximately 13 km in diameter and is overlain by 143 - 200m of overburden and Paleozoic sediments. (Study 43, p.2, 6).

Carbonatite-Unsubdivided | 3 | Host |
Dec 07, 2005 (D Draper) - The dominant rock type is a silica-saturated, magnetite-bearing, amphibole-pyroxene syenite which varies from fine to coarse grained and locally displays a trachytoidal texture. A minor granite phase was also identified. (Study 43, p. 2, 14).
Dec 07, 2005 (D Draper) - Algoma drillhole #5-64 (vertical, to depth of 555ft), intersected syenodiorite and syenite starting at 473 feet. One sample taken at 522ft from a zone of anorthosite assayed at 0.1% NB2O5; other samples taken from 473 - 555ft ranged from 0.02 to 0.05%. (AF T-338; T-4267, hand-written log of hole #5).
Jan 17, 2023 (Therese Pettigrew) - DDH NG-22-02 returned 0.554% TREO and 0.098% Nd2O3 over 61 m from 373 to 434 m), including 0.665% TREO and 0.118% Nd2O3 over 17 m (Noble Mineral press release Jan 17, 2023). DDH NG-22-02 returned assays of up to 0.36% Ce2O3, 0.12% Nd2O3, and 0.05% Nb (Noble Mineral press release Dec 5, 2022).
