Lithology Comments

Aug 22, 2013 (D Draper) - Mapping identified a 12m section of varicoloured Cretaceous clays filling hollows in the Middle-Upper Silurian carbonates. Blue-green clays are interbedded with fine clayey silts. The clays are described as being fine, clayey silts consisting of quartz-illite plus illite/smectite. The clay has a fine particle size range and in the unfired state shows low plasticity.
