Exploration History

This occurrence was based on a report by Prest (1944) of copper and molybdenum mineralization south of Reserve Creek. Although it has been located within claims associated with the nearby Reserve Creek occurrences, these veins are not known to have been actively explored since 1944. 2015: Sampling by OGS staff.

Geology Comments

Jul 18, 2006 (Q Unknown) - The Dome occurrence is based on reports by Prest (1944) of the observation of the frequent occurrence of quartz veins on the south side of Reserve Creek, to the south of the Reserve Creek Au-Cu-W occurrences. The veins south of the creek were reported to contain much chalcopyrite and traces of molybdenite, but very low gold values. these veins are located immediately north of the Reserve Lake granite and may be genetically related (e.g., porphyry-type mineralization).
